An introduction, of sorts. . .

Although my passport says I'm "Jason Anderson", most people know me as "J". I'm a 34 year-old geek who calls Southern California home. Since you've managed to find my home page and herein you will discover a mixture of personal and professional trivia about me. Probably way more than you ever cared to know. I have plenty of of other "web"mails out there but jason@montero4x4.com still remains my primary one.

The Reader's Digest condensed version of me...

I listen to most any sort of music you can think of (except country and really heavy metal). Streaming web music is awesome and KCRW is my favorite place to hang. I'm a morning person, I have a cynical sense of humor, and I like to take LOTS of pictures wherever I go. I have a favorite beer (or so). I can see those "magic eye" 3D posters. I don't own very many pairs of shoes. When I'm alone I like to sing (badly and loudly, especially to my black Lab). I can usually fall asleep at night quickly. I'm often in a good mood for no apparent reason, but can get irritated quickly. I have a blog but not much angst. I think that many of the world's problems would be solved if everyone owned a 4x4 or off-road vehicle.

I like to think of myself as a self-taught hacker from the Atari generation. I've been hacking and programming since I got my first computer in 1979 and have spent most of my energy since my Junior year of High School to date on developing a good résumé in an effort to make myself as marketable as possible without having to actually endure a college education. To date, I have a VERY large and pristine collection of original Atari computer and video game equipment. Some of which I actually learned my skills on back in the early 80's.

I was born and raised right here in SoCal. Even though I've traveled all over this great country and even outside of it a few times, the graps of California still has a hold on me for now.
